Child Care Franchise Opportuniity
Currently, more than 12.5 million children under the age of four and 28 million under the age of six are enrolled in some sort of child care or daycare program, and that is expected to reach close to 7 million by the year 2050. At this time, 10 million more children do not have access to quality child care, giving a child care franchise business strong growth potential. In fact, over the last five years, revenues in the industry have seen increases over 200 percent.
A child care franchise can take many forms. You might select a more traditional ""play care"" form of business; at your center, children would be encouraged to engage in games, crafts and other fun activities while they develop growing social skills. You could also choose a drop-in entertainment and care center, providing your services both during the day and in the evenings or even on weekends. Many of these businesses also offer half-day or full-day mini camps during school holidays, providing much-needed supervision of children while Mom and Dad are at work.
You might choose an education-based franchise instead. Your brand company may provide curricula and materials for instructional times, while you also include play times for the children in your care. In addition to toddler and preschool programs, you can offer after-school enrichment programs for school-aged children.
If a school-type setting isn't your style, an in-home babysitter. nanny or tutoring service might be a better fit. As the business owner, you are responsible for pre-screening applicants for basic qualifications, conducting in-person interviews to be sure that the potential caregiver fits with your customers' needs, and then doing background investigations and reference checks on qualified applicants. You also provide training in CPR, first aid and other relevant topics. You can provide single-event or weekly event sitters or full-time nannies and caregivers, or you could focus on sitters for hotel guests and travelers.
As an extension to your child care franchise, you could offer pet- and house-sitting services, with staff taking in the mail, watering plants, feeding and exercising pets or just cuddling and playing with the family's dogs and cats. They might also be asked to switch lights on and off to make it seem like someone is at home.
