The first Ground Round® opened in 1969 and offered a limited menu of only 12 items, featuring primarily burgers, snack food and pitchers of beer. The atmosphere was casual, relaxed, and, dare we say, permissive. Ground Round was the original “no rules” place and a big success with its customers. During the 1980s, Ground Round evolved to become a fun, family-friendly environment. In the ‘90s, as more people were dining out and having higher expectations of their restaurant experiences, the Ground Round met those expectations by providing interesting taste profiles, higher quality food, larger portions, friendly customer service and overall value. Today, the Ground Round menu offers a combination of variety, enhanced flavor profiles and portion sizes that are unequaled in any other casual dining concept.
