American Express Travel Representative Cruise Planners has been name a "Top Franchise for Women" in a new report from Franchise Business Review (FBR). These rankings are completely based on the firsthand experiences of franchise business owners in the areas of performance and satisfaction.
According to the travel brand, the business model is what makes Cruise Planners such a good fit for women, people who want home-based businesses and those who are trying to supplement their family's income. Franchisee Jennifer Klingsmith, who has five children and has fostered more than 100 children with special needs, echoed this idea. The travel franchise model allows for flexibility, enabling Indianapolis resident Klingsmith to work when she is able to and take care of all the children.
In addition to the FBR recognition, this travel franchise business has also been named a top women-owned company in the South Florida Area. CEO and co-owner Michelle Fee has received EY’s Entrepreneur of the Year award, while COO and co-owner Vicky Garcia was the recipient of the Top 25 Influential Business Women Award. Both co-owners serve on the boards of partners in the industry such as American Express Travel, Royal Caribbean International and the Norwegian Cruise Line. As both a mother and grandmother, Fee noted that she understood the desire and importance of a career with a flexible schedule.
