Date

May 18, 2016

Kankakee, Illinois, franchisees Dave and Sonya Comer were given the "Rookie of the Year" for resale centers award at the 2016 FASTSIGNS International Convention, according to a recent press release. This honor recognizes the franchisee who has the highest sales over the first year of operation after acquiring an existing franchise business.

Dave Comer said he and his wife were honored to be labeled as a top-performing center and that this award recognizes all of their team's work and positive community contributions. Comer thanked their customers for the support the couple has received and said they look forward to helping more organizations and businesses tell their story using visual graphics, signage and creative marketing solutions.

The franchisee couple hail from Casey, and both graduated from a local high school there. Before the move to Kankakee, Comer helped out on his family's farm and worked as a structural engineer, and Sonya taught piano lessons, home-schooled their children and served at the Casey First Church of Nazarene.

After getting its start back in 1985, FASTSIGNS has since evolved into a leading visual communications and signage provider, with more than 600 centers around the world. The graphics and signage franchiser provides a diverse array of services for business and organizations, including custom-printed window shades, digital signage, e-commerce initiatives and imaged glass.

The company is seeking franchisees across the nation, with franchises for sale in major markets in New York, Texas, Arizona, California, Montana, Nevada and elsewhere. A qualified applicant will have a good credit score and a net worth of $250,000 or more, with $80,000 or more available in liquid capital. The franchise fee is $44,500, and the initial investment is about $160,503 total. Qualified veterans will receive a reduced franchise fee of $22,250 and other benefits, including a reduced royalty rate for the first year.
