Wayback Burgers is coming to Dearborn Heights, bringing the
total number of its locations in Michigan to four.
The new Dearborn Wayback
Burgers is expected to open some time in the spring
and will join the franchise business' other three Michigan stores,
which are in the Rochester Hills and Lansing areas. This is the
first Wayback Burgers operated and owned by area franchisees
Latifeh Sabbagh and Hussein Saab. Saab expressed excitement over
the move and said that the two believe the Dearborn area is a
perfect fit for the retro burger brand.
With a 1,600-square-foot design, Wayback Burgers of Dearborn
Heights on Ford Road will feature the brand's signature roadside
burger joint style with stainless steel and white accents and a red
barn board interior.
Wayback Burgers Franchising
Opportunities
First opened under the name Jake's Wayback Hamburgers in
Delaware in 1991, Wayback Burgers has since grown to more than 100
operating locations across 26 states and overseas. Its menu
mainstays are fresh burgers and hand-dipped milkshakes along with
American favorites such as hot dogs, chicken sandwiches and French
fries. Wayback locations aim to re-imagine the original American
burger roadside joint experience with a bright, retro-styled
interior.
To qualify for one of Wayback Burgers' franchising
opportunities, applicants need a credit score of 680 or higher and
liquid capital of at least $100,000. The franchise fee for the
first location is $35,000, with the average initial investment
around $300,000. An applicant who doesn't meet this criteria can
partner with someone who does in order to qualify as long as the
partner owns at least 50 percent of the business.
While Wayback Burgers doesn't offer financing, the company
does have lenders they can recommend to prospective franchisees.
The continuing royalty for a Wayback Burgers franchisee is 5
percent of a location's gross sales, minus the sales tax.
