A new Zaxby's has just opened while another is set to open in early July. The two new locations are part of the franchise business's growth plans, which extend across the country. Currently, Zaxby's has more than 700 locations that are mainly spread over 16 states in the Southeast.
The soon-to- open Zaxby's will have seating for 90 people and will be located on Sunshine Street in Springfield, Missouri, with ground-breaking set to take place shortly. Springfield franchisee Jason Pullman is eyeing a July opening date. Pullman, who has been involved in other major franchises, chose this location because of its high traffic and expects to add other four locations in the area over the next five years. The new franchisee expects the Springfield Zaxby's to do well because the area is underserved as far as food service goes.
In other development news, a ribbon-cutting was recently held to celebrate the opening of a new Zaxby's in Rockmart, Georgia. According to the Director of Market Development for the new location, J.J. DeRoy, the bustling family-oriented community in the area is ideal for the Zaxby's model.
The event drew a crowd, with a long line forming before the opening time. The first 100 customers in line were also given a Zaxby’s Fanatic Pac, which includes free food for 52 weeks. Zaxby's Rockmart Manager Matt McDermid cut the ribbon at the ceremony, with community officials, civic leaders and Mayor Steven Miller also in attendance.
