Sylvan Learning, the leading enrichment and educational resource program provider in the US, had a 2017 full of growth and is planning for a robust 2018 as well. During the last year, this educational franchise business brand added 49 franchises. Their goal is to add 100 more franchises in 2018.

This education franchiser introduced a new license agreement back in 2016. Last year, the company changed its operating requirements at franchised locations to focus more on delivering the very best programs, building a top-tier business model and growing its system across many states, including Virginia, Colorado, California, Pennsylvania and Florida. Ownership at 50 centers was transferred in 2017, and 14 new locations opened in 11 brand-new territories.
Director of Franchise Development Georgia Chasen added that this franchise is attractive to people who want to positively impact their communities while creating a comfortable lifestyle for themselves and leaving a legacy when it comes time to retire. With a 37-year-old system, the brand naturally saw some original franchisees retire this year, and Chase said the company was pleased to welcome new franchisees into communities where the centers have an established presence.
2017 was also a year of international expansion, with the franchiser partnering with educator Haitham Ahmed to bring Sylvan into Saudi Arabia. Ahmed first came into contact with the brand when he enrolled his son at a center in Canada. Because of the positive effect Sylvan had on his son, the professor decided to open a location in his home country with his wife and brother. This location is expected to open in early 2018.
With more than three decades in the industry and a plan in place for rapid growth, Sylvan Learning currently has franchise opportunities available to dedicated franchises in many major markets, such as New York City, Orlando and Pittsburgh. The franchisee fee is $24,000, and the initial total investment ranges from $70,980 to $159,890.
