DULUTH, Minn., Dickey's Barbecue Restaurants,
Inc. partners with Butch Berg to open a new franchise location in
Duluth, Minnesota, with the intention of growing his charitable
endeavors and an opportunity to build the Dickey's brand.
"I have always been interested in opening a barbecue restaurant and Dickey's offers quality barbecue at a good price. It's a growing family business with value and expertise in food preparation," said Berg, who will own and operate the new location. "It's the variety and consistency of products offered at Dickey's that sealed the deal for me."
This will be the ninth Dickey's location in Minnesota and the first franchise opportunity for Berg. He plans to relocate to Duluth from Chippewa to run the restaurant.
"Duluth, MN has always been my favorite place to be and I am looking forward to moving in and running my business permanently at this location," said Berg.
Butch Berg currently works in a metal fabrication shop, but is excited about the opportunity to work more directly with the community in Duluth. He is actively involved in numerous charities including the Humane Society, American Cancer Society and St. Jude's.
"Those are a few of my favorite charities that I actively support. It is important to me to be involved in the community and take action to make a difference in this world," Berg said.
DBRI encourages all owner/operators to be good stewards in their communities, by partnering with charities or sponsoring organizations within each community. Especially in the midst of a rapid national expansion, it's important to pursue charitable efforts.
"We are excited about expanding in Minnesota, particularly with Butch Berg who obviously has his priorities in the right place," said Roland Dickey Jr., president of DBRI. "We are happy to provide him with a platform to give back to the Duluth community that he appreciates whole-heartedly."
The restaurant remains anchored in Texas, where the first location opened in Dallas during 1941.
Dickey's Barbecue offers a quality selection of signature meats, home style sides and tangy barbecue sauce.
