PR Log (Press Release) – Dec 10, 2009 – Food franchises set
sights on ATLAtlanta Business Chronicle - by Lisa R. Schoolcraft
Staff Writer Atlanta Business Chronical At least a half-dozen franchise restaurant concepts plan to enter or expand in metro Atlanta, potentially investing tens of millions of dollars in the market in build-out costs. Red Mango, Pollo Campero, Woody’s Bar-B-Q, Healthy Way Café, Baja Bistro, Willie Jewell’s Bar-B-Q, and Genghis Grill are all on tap to enter or expand here next year. The concepts will range from opening mall venues to building stand-alone restaurants and will add at least 82 locations over the next five years. That should be welcome news for shopping center owners, who have seen vacancy rates rise to 10.4 percent in metro Atlanta, and for the construction industry, which has bled 35,500 jobs statewide over the past year. |
