Tasti D-Lite has what it takes to make it in the Big Apple and
other cities so one would think it will have the same raving fans
and popularity in suburbia.
LoHud.com reported the frozen dessert chain will be opening its first location in Westchester County, New York this month in New Rochelle. The franchisees, brother and sister-in-law Marc Dolfman and Yael Laifer, have been fans of Tasti D-Lite for years – Dolfman from his time working in finance in Manhattan and Laifer from her frequent trips from New Rochelle to the city. Laifer, a mother of three whose youngest just finished kindergarten, was ready to rejoin the workforce but needed an opportunity that would keep her close to home and available to her family. When Tasti D-Lite began its franchise program last year, Laifer and Dolfman saw it as the perfect way to utilize their individual strengths and bring a much-loved concept to a new community.
“Marc has the business acumen and I have the marketing smarts, but we both share a crazy passion for Tasti D-Lite – the kind of passion that has led us to trudge out in blizzards or risk parking tickets just to get a serving. I even requested pints of Peanut Butter Fudge after the birth of each of my daughters!” said Yael. “There are loads of Tasti D-Lite fanatics out there and we’re banking on the fact that many are in Westchester County!”
