The 2015 edition of the Joint Channel Forecast Model reports that automotive aftermarket sales are projected to go from 2014’s figure of $246.7 billion to an estimated $284.3 billion in 2018, a boost of close to $38 billion.
In line with this trend, the AAMCO franchise business is reporting double-digit growth in Total Car Care sales each year, and they expect this pattern to continue for the foreseeable future. Over the last year alone, the number of customers who went to an AAMCO service center for maintenance services hit 60 percent.
AAMCO Transmissions attributes part of its success in the Total Car Care segment to its partnership with a sister company, Global Powertrain Systems. According to AAMCO, the partnership allows the franchise business to maximize profits for its franchisees by providing owners the ability to control delivery speed, cost and quality when it comes to repair work on transmissions through its Georgia re-manufactured transmission facility. The franchise also launched a "Trust" campaign that is aimed at growing the general public’s perception of its maintenance services beyond the repair of transmissions.
AAMCO’s President and CEO, Brett Ponton, spoke about the AAMCO franchise opportunity. According to Ponton, now is the time for people to get into an AAMCO franchise. Ponton cited the double-digit growth in the Total Car Care sector and the continued success of its core transmission repair category as two reasons that the franchise is an ideal opportunity for incoming franchise owners.
Wayne Martella is a good example of an AAMCO franchisee’s success. Martell has owned three centers in the Mesa, Arizona, area for the last eight years. Since he joined AAMCO, his business has experienced strong growth thanks to various profit streams and record increases in revenue.
