Ed Schatz and his wife Lisa are opening the first Brass Tap Craft Beer Bar in the Palm Coast region of Florida. The new location, in Island Walk, will feature around 200 different beers, with close to 70 of them on tap, along with an assortment of wines and other spirits.
The new craft beer franchisee is no stranger to the area; he was born in the region. Moreover, he was already familiar with the small business concept, having learned from his father's landscaping business before opening one of his own in 1994. That company, Austin Outdoor, grew to 12 locations before Schatz sold it in 2008 and took some time off. Retirement was fine at first, but soon Schatz got restless, and he began looking into beer franchising opportunities. His research led him to Brass Tap, and his new location opened just two months ago. He's also planning on opening nine more franchise business locations with the brand down the road, between the Jacksonville and Viera areas.
The new business is employing 50 local people, 40 of whom are full time, and the new franchisee is most excited about bringing the craft beer experience to the Palm Coast. According to Schatz, there are a lot of people who enjoy craft beer in the area who previously had nowhere to go.
The Island Walk Brass Tap Craft Beer Bar store will open at 11am for lunch and serve families and children until 9pm, when it will be over-21 only. Live music will be played each night during opening week but will continue to feature on the weekends going forward.
Brass Tap Craft Beer Bar is a fast-growing craft beer bar that prides itself on its vast selection and warm customer experiences, and there are currently franchising opportunities available. The franchise fee is $35,000, and the total investment ranges from $700,000 to $1,200,000.
