Leading Southern US chicken franchise business Zaxby's is opening a new location in the east part of Charlotte, North Carolina. The 3,600-square-foot store is expected to open this May and will be situated on Albemarle Road. This new Zaxby's will seat 70 people, and it's already looking to hire around 50 people.
Zaxby's Charlotte franchisee Drew Patel, who also operates the chain's Mooresville location, said the brand has proven to be the right fit for the Charlotte market. Patel noted they would continue to work hard at both locations to be the local community's top dining choice.
The Zaxby's brand is famous for its fried chicken wings and also offers salads, sides, desserts and other signature creations. Currently, Zaxby's has more than 700 locations across 16 states, which are mainly in the southern part of the US. The chain also has stores in Utah and Indiana.
Zaxby's Offering Franchise Opportunities
The first Zaxby's was opened in Georgia back in 1990 by childhood friends Tony Townley and Zach McLeroy. The goal back then was to create a place where people could get good, fresh chicken in a causal setting, and that is still part of the Zaxby's mission today. The brand is known for its playful and whimsical store interiors, which vary by region, and its diverse menu and dipping sauces. It also works to help local communities by partnering with the Make-A-Wish charity.
Currently, Zaxby's has franchise opportunities available in many markets, particularly in the southeast part of the US. Open markets include Virginia, Ohio, Florida and Texas. Qualified applicants will have a net worth of $1,000,000 or more, with liquid assets over $500,000, and must be able to pass a background check that includes a criminal and credit history. The initial franchisee fee is $35,000, with the total investment running from $215,100 to $655,100.
