Staffing firm Express Employment Professionals, in conjunction
with its franchise business locations in Oregon, Michigan,
Washington, Arkansas, North Carolina, Minnesota, Utah, Colorado,
Georgia and Wisconsin, is going to donate $75,000 to ten
nonprofits. This donation is part of the brand's Impact Project, an
initiative that aims to give back to nonprofits that are nominated
by its franchisees.
Express Employment Professionals Board
Chairman and CEO Bob Funk says the company prides itself on a
culture steeped in service and giving. With that in mind, noted
Funk, it's important for the brand to support its local communities
and help honor the commitment its franchisees have shown to the
nominated nonprofits.
The $20,000 donation grand prize winner was Kid’s Cup, a golf
event that supports new infant and prenatal care in Minnesota. This
fundraiser was stared by Rochester Express franchisees Mark and
Sheryl Tasler and has since raised more than $1 million for the
Olmsted Medical and Mayo Clinic Children’s Centers.
Another winner was the child abuse intervention organization
The Children's Center in Oregon, which will receive $5,000. This
center educates the public on neglect and child abuse in the area
and provides services to children who need expert care and
evaluation. Express Oregon City franchisee Tina Irvine nominated
the charity, which her office has supported over the years.
$10,000 each will go to OUR Center in Colorado, the Racine
Vocational Ministry in Wisconsin and the Utah Domestic Violence
Coalition. The Cape Fear Valley Health Foundation in North
Carolina, Childhaven in Washington and the Kids' Food Basket in
Michigan will receive $5,000, while a donation of $2,500 has been
awarded to Camp Rock of Georgia and While We're Waiting in
Arkansas.
