Leaders from more than 15 franchises growing mustaches for Movember
Fort Lauderdale, Fla. (November 11, 2013) – Franchising industry leaders from across the country are uniting this November and growing moustaches as part of Movember, the global men’s health charity that raises awareness and funds for men’s health issues to fight prostate and testicular cancer and mental health challenges.
“The franchising industry is a tight-knit community that likes to rally together around important causes,” said Matthew Bogart, FranMo team captain. “Movember is a fun way for us to support a cause that will impact all of us in one way or another because one in four men will get or already have prostate or testicular cancer in our lifetime.”
Team FranMo was created in 2011 under the leadership of Bogart, franchise consultant at FranChoice and business development manager at Franchise.com, and Tim Courtney, vice president of network development at CruiseOne®. Participating franchisors include International Franchise Association, CruiseOne, Franchise.com, Greenbaum Marketing Communications, Caring Senior Service, AAMCO, The UPS Store, Process Peak, QW Express, HigherVisibility LLC, Franchise Business Review, Entrepreneur Media, Franchise Times, Franchise Payments Network, FRM Solutions, Primrose Schools, Wild Birds Unlimited, MatchPoint and Initial Impression.
Since 2003, three million participants have raised more than $446 million for the cause, funding more than 570 programs globally, with official Movember campaigns taking place in 21 countries. In 2012, more than 209,000 Americans participated and raised approximately $21 million.
“We are encouraging our franchisees, suppliers, vendors and corporate partners to get involved and help make a difference,” said Courtney. “We are confident we will exceed our goal and help fellow bros in need.”
Team FranMo hopes to raise $50,000. If you are interested in supporting Team FranMo, please visit http://moteam.co/franmo.
