1950s-era burger chain Johnny Rockets has just opened a new franchise business in its 30th country in the midst of its 30th anniversary. Opened by Founder Ronn Teitelbaum back in 1986, the burger business has stayed true to its brand while also staying relevant to modern customers. This chain has been expanding its global reach over the decades, bringing its signature all-American fare to customers in China, Peru, Italy and elsewhere around the world.
President of Operations and Development James Walker said that this past year has been monumental for the brand. Not only did the company make its entrance into its 30th country, but it also reached two milestones: the most locations opened in a single year and the most restaurants in operation at one time over the brand's history. Growth is still on the menu for the upcoming year, according to Walker, with plans in place for 60 more locations in 2017.
One significant opening this year will be the brand's first Australian store in Queensland, which is set to open in June. A recent partnership between Johnny Rockets and JR Restaurants Australia Pty Ltd. has allowed the burger brand to expand into the Outback and includes 100 new stores in both New Zealand and Australia. All the new locations will feature the brand's "2.0" tech, including high-efficiency equipment for the kitchen, self-order kiosks and table top payment and ordering systems.
With all the growth in the works and plans for more, this international diner-themed chain is looking to add to its franchise locations across the country and worldwide and bring its hand-spun shakes, always-fresh burgers and famous fries to customers everyone.
