Massage Envy has just announced it has entered into a partnership with the PGA TOUR that will span four years. The leading therapeutic massage and skincare services franchise business will be an official sponsor of the global professional golf showcase and a total body care sponsor of its associated Player Performance Centers, which are mobile wellness and training trailers on both the PGA TOUR and the PGA TOUR Champions. This is the first major sports partnership for the franchise business brand and the first agreement PGA TOUR has entered into with a skin care and massage service provider.
The agreement comes in as the massage franchise rolls outs its new Total Body Stretch assisted stretching service. Done by a trainer provider, Massage Envy's proprietary Streto Method is based on a ten-stretch sequence that is designed to increase performance, flexibility and mobility. This special sequence was designed by an award-winning massage therapist, chiropractor and ergonomist and became available to visitors to the brand's franchise locations across the country in July.
PGA TOUR Senior Vice President of Sponsorship and Partnership Brian Oliver said the company is thrilled to welcome the massage franchise as a sponsor. He also noted the PGA TOUR sees the brand as an ideal partner for its Player Performance Centers, which focus on injury-prevention and therapeutic services for its TOUR members. The professional PGA TOUR staff at the Player Performance Centers are being certified in the Streto Method, and the massage brand's logo will be displayed on the trailers.
Massage brand CEO Joe Magnacca said there is no better partner for the brand than the professional golfers and the PGA TOUR, especially as they launch their new Today Body Stretch service. The CEO says the players have a deep appreciation for total body care and how it relates to performance. He added that his company is pleased to bring this service to the professional golfers and everyone else.
As part of the partnership, the massage chain has built relationships with current PGA TOUR members, including Justin Thomas, Jonas Blixt and Jamie Lovemark. Thomas said that you cannot compete at the PGA TOUR level without body care and that assisted stretching is a prominent part of his routine.
Massage Envy currently has more than 1,000 franchise locations and is offering franchise opportunities in many markets. To qualify for one its franchise opportunities, applicants must have a net worth of at least $500,000, with $150,000 or more liquid. The franchise fee is $45,000 for the first location, and the total initial investment ranges from $434,823 to $1,030,500.
