New Orleans-based coffee franchise business PJ's Coffee has just announced the second year of its Veteran Franchise License Giveaway, which will give a franchise license to one deserving veteran. Those interested in applying should visit the brand's official website for more information and to receive a franchise brochure. Applicants need to submit a video that is one minute long explaining how their service in the military has prepared them to be a franchisee with the brand. Applications are open now and will run through the 31st of December, with the winner being announced in January 2019.
Brand CEO David Mesa said that the company is grateful for all veterans' service to the country and is honored to be able to provide a new carrier to those coming home from duty. According to the CEO, last year's winner, Marine Corps veteran Jeff Hateley, has been successful and inspired the brand to continue the initiative this year. Hateley, who served from 2001 to 2006, was chosen because of his diverse professional and military background and his positive attitude.
Hateley added that he is grateful for the franchise opportunity from the coffee brand because he had dreamed of owning his own business.
PJ's Coffee is known for its wide variety of beverages, include nitro-infused, cold brew, iced and frozen coffees made from the highest-quality Arabica beans, and they also serve fresh pastries and organic teas. The company's famous ice coffee varieties are made using a special cold-drip process that protects the beans' strength and flavor while resulting in a coffee that is 66 percent less acidic than other types. This process was invented by founder Phyllis Jordan, who started the company back in 1978.
The total initial investment for a franchise opportunity with this brand ranges from $178,900 to $373,000 for nontraditional locations and $190,900 to $566,000 for traditional locations. This brand's menu and operating model are adaptable to several environments thanks to its different formats, including free-stranding franchise business locations complete with drive-throughs and kiosks.
PJ's Coffee is committed to giving back to veterans and offers a 20 percent discount on the franchise fee to qualified veterans.
