PJ’s Coffee Set for Franchise Business Growth in 2018

Date

Mar 06, 2018

Coffeehouse franchise business PJ’s Coffee of New Orleans is brewing up a strong 2018. This year marks the 40th anniversary of the New Orleans-based brand, and it plans to celebrate by offering more franchise opportunities and expanding beyond the southeastern part of the US. Building on its initial success with more than 90 stores in the US and overseas, this coffeehouse brand now has 20 new stores set to open by the end of the year.

During 2017, PJ's Coffee awarded 14 franchise agreements, and the brand is hoping to expand even further in 2018, eying new franchisees across the country with a focus on Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi and Texas, along with France and Malaysia on the international side. The overseas push will build on the brand's awarding of several multi-unit and master international agreements in Kuwait and Vietnam last year.

Brand President Peter Boylan said it's an exciting time to be a part of this coffee company's family. According to Boylan, the company is now refining its focus on branding as it moves into new markets worldwide. As part of this refinement, this brand now has a new store design that has a modern look while still honoring New Orleans. The re-branding impacts everything from operations to the wall colors, and it will roll out system-wide throughout the year.

PJ's Coffee is looking for applicants to take advantage of at least 71 franchise opportunities by the end of 2018 as it is aiming to grow to 200 stores by 2020. The total investment ranges from $166,400 to $350,000 for nontraditional stores and $350,000 to $440,000 for traditional locations.
