Midwest coffee franchise business Scooter's Coffee, LLC is bringing its drive-through coffee locations to the Iowa Great Lakes and Spencer areas.
Based in Nebraska and on track for another year of growth that will shatter records, Scooter's is known for its in-store made pastries, hand-tampered espressos, and the Caramelicious, its signature drink. The company expanded its profile last year by adding a new line that included single-origin coffee, the Cold Brew & Cream, and organic iced and hot teas.
Coffee is a staple in the US, with 62 percent of the population drinking coffee every day in 2017. According to the National Coffee Association, an all-time high of 46 percent of Americans drank coffee made outside of their home in 2017 as well. It's this strong market that Scooter's is able to tap into, which is why the Midwest brand is offering franchise opportunities in several markets,
Joshua Morris and Robb Steffes, the new Iowa franchisees with the brand, have close ties to the resort region in the state. Morris has spent his summers in the Okoboji lakes region since he was a child, and Steffes hails from Spencer.
Steffes said he and his franchise partner are confident in the brand and are thrilled to bring something new to the area that gives families access to a variety of items at a fast pace but still with a quality service level. Morris added that this brand has the Midwestern values and roots that local residents demand and said the new franchise business locations have a bright future.
The brand is also excited about its expansion into a busy community. A two-unit agreement was signed to establish its presence in Okoboji and Spencer. Okoboji is known as the top vacation destination in the state, while Spencer made the “America’s Best Small Towns” list from Smithsonian.com last year.
Brand COO Mike Rogers said the company is thrilled for its new franchisees. He added both the Iowa Great Lakes and Spencer are markets Scooter's has been eyeing due to significant population and economic growth.
Established in 1998 by Linda and Don Eckles, Scooter's Coffee now partners with the Arbor Day Foundation to source completely shade-grown coffee to help protect rainforests and contribute to a "chain of good" abroad and at home. Quickly approaching 200 stores across 16 states, Scooter's is still offering franchise opportunities, and the total initial investment ranges from $334,000 to $514,000.
