Val Hill and Jared Lee, Sport Clips Haircuts franchisees out of Chandler, Arizona, were recently featured in CNBC's "Top Franchisees in America" special report.
A total of 52 franchisees were included in the list. They were selected with input from the Franchise Business Review, a leading franchise market research agency that conducts independent surveys of franchise business buyers and franchisee satisfaction.
Sport Clips CEO and Founder Gordon Logan spoke highly of the Arizona franchisees, saying that Lee and Hill have done a wonderful job with their locations and their teams. According to Logan, the company is honored as a brand and for its franchisees by the recognition from CNBC and the Franchise Business Review.
In order to be considered as "Top Franchisee" in the CNBC piece, the franchise needed to be at least five years old and a "top performing brand" according to franchisee satisfaction ratings, with high system growth, franchisee tenure and return on investment. Hill and Lee, as a top franchisee team, were rated on tenure, performance and satisfaction.
The franchise presented Hill and Lee with the Logan Trophy, the company's highest award, at the annual national meeting. Hill and Lee were also named the company's Franchisees of the Year back in 2012. They currently have 18 locations in the greater Phoenix area and plan to open 19 more stores in Arizona over the next five years.

Currently, the company is offering franchise opportunities across the US in vibrant markets such as California, New York and Massachusetts. Applicants who qualify for one of these franchise opportunities will have a net worth of at least $400,000, with a minimum of $200,000 liquid and a credit score of 680 or above. The franchise fee is $59,500 for three licenses, and the initial investment ranges from $183,300 to $351,500 for the first location.
