Fast-growing hometown burger franchise business Wayback Burgers recently announced the signing of a master franchise agreement that will pave the way for its expansion into Ireland. New master franchisee Zubair Najm will be the first to bring the brand to the Emerald Isle, and he has extensive experience in the food service industry, with five other food franchises already up and running in Dublin City.
The newest Wayback franchisee was looking for franchise opportunities that would bring a challenge but mesh with his current food portfolio when he spotted the burger brand at a Dublin franchise show late last year. According to Zubair, he then met with the brand's Executive Vice President, Bill Chemero, and discovered they were looking for a master franchisee for the area. At that point, Zubair researched the local market, spoke to other master franchisees with the brand and evaluated Wayback before deciding the brand was a perfect fit.
Jason Murawski, the brand's Director of International Development, says the company is excited about the prospect of expanding into Ireland. According to Murawski, Zubair and his support team are working to open new locations throughout the country via single and multi-unit agreements.
Founded more than 25 years ago in Delaware, Wayback Burgers has since grown to over 150 locations in the US and overseas. Known for its retro styling, fresh burgers and hand-dipped milkshakes, Wayback Burgers is still expanding and has franchise opportunities available in several areas. The franchise fee is $35,000, and the initial investment is around $350,000 for the standard 1,600-square-foot prototype.
