Burger innovator Wayback Burgers just marked the opening of a new location in Summerville, South Carolina. Located in the Sawmill Village retail complex on Bacons Bridge Road, the new store is owned by franchisees Paul and Carol Migliaro.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held to celebrate the opening on December 11th, with the owners, the mayor of Summerville and members of the Greater Summerville/Dorchester County Chamber of Commerce in attendance. Wayback Burgers Summerville is managed by Karen Bellemare and will feature the made-to-order hamburgers and shakes and the retro interior that set the franchise business apart from the pack.
The Wayback Burgers Franchise Opportunity
Wayback Burgers is currently looking for franchisees in several markets and has more than 350 contracted locations with 100 operating across the United States and 32 international locations. A qualified franchisee will have a credit score of 680 or higher and at least $100,000 in liquid capital. The initial franchise fee is $35,000, with the total investment around $300,000. There is a discount on the franchise fee for qualified owners who purchase multiple units and meet the brand’s criteria.
If a franchisee doesn’t qualify on his or her own, Wayback Burgers does allow a partnership to meet the requirements, as long as the partner owns at least 50 percent of the business. Although the fast food franchise doesn’t offer financing, they do have a network of recommended lenders.
The royalty fee is 5 percent of gross sales minus sales tax. The advertising fee is 4 percent of gross sales, of which 2 percent goes to national marketing efforts and 2 percent goes to local marketing.
